Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Golden Bake can be frozen for up to two months.
  • For a little extra crunch, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the cheese.

Golden Bake is very similar to a Shepherd’s Pie. The biggest difference is the addition of pumpkin, which the recipe uses with mashed potatoes. Skeptical of this change at first? We have to admit that it works well. The pumpkin adds a richness and depth of flavor that plain mashed potatoes can’t match.

It also gives the pie a beautiful golden colour. The pumpkin can make the filling balanced, and the pie crust can be a bit crispy to your liking. Overall, though, Golden Bake is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that is sure to please any crowd.
