Molly Burnett – August 2015

MOLLY BURNETT AUGUST 2015 HOT CHICK OF THE MONTH

Molly Burnett August 2015As we wind down the Summer, and simultaneously begin the three-month wrap up of this column for good (don’t worry, we’re just tweaking the format a tad), we wanted to make sure we closed things out with a bang, by ensuring that our final three gals were nothing less than the crème de la crème of our favorite celebrity ladies on the planet. With August typically being one of the hotter months up here in the northern hemisphere, we figured, who better to kickoff the column’s grand finale than a choice starlet with fiery red hair? Meet Molly Burnett, thespian-extraordinaire, four-timer on our magazine’s annual Top 100 Sexiest Women Alive, and your August 2015 Hot Chick of the Month.

Few would deny that this five-foot-four-inch spitfire from Littleton, Colorado is a true heart-stealer, however, in the unlikely event you haven’t caught on by now (and 100% of the reason we’re reformatting this column in 2016) our monthly Hot Chick spread is just as much about female empowerment, as it is scintillating looks– and that’s something we dig about Molly. Whether it’s (formerly) tapping into her Scottish ancestry to set an “I can take care of myself” example as Melanie on Days of Our Lives, guiding the debate team, winning the homecoming crown, or sermonizing about educating our youth, empowering young girls and anti-bullying, Ms Burnett is the real deal. She even says of other women, “We need to spend more time empowering one another.” As far as good causes go, Miss August is also a huge advocate of Brad Everett Young’s charity Dream Loud, which operates with the intent of keeping or restarting arts programs in schools.

Molly’s also a gamer in a more literal sense of the word. Not only is she a former lacrosse competitor, she’s also a hard core fantasy football player. “I’m a huge football junkie. I would much rather watch a football game than go shopping. I’m talking, three fantasy leagues a year, DirectTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket, and Colin-Cowherd’s-radio-show ‘The Herd’ every-morning-junkie. I’m also a Denver Broncos girl with a less than low-key love for Cam Newton… and a die hard Lebron James fan.” Despite her love of sports (Molly also points out that she typically falls asleep to either Sports Center or Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show every night) she also resolves to be a science-geek, who has watched Carl Sagan’s Cosmos more times than she can Molly Burnett August 2015count. As far as other stuff goes, Molly loves singing “mainly jazz and R&B”, shares a flat with her tunefully gifted brother, and considers herself a giant musical theater nerd.

Now that she’s on hiatus from Days, one might be wondering, what’s next for our fille du mois? “I have a movie called Ctrl Alt Delete coming out soon, I’m on the second episode of Longmire’s next season, and there’s another project coming out that I can’t announce yet, so you’ll just have to wait and see.”

Good-Golly for Miss Molly? You can find Miss August on Twitter, Instagram, check out our Molly Burnett Bio on the SMAG Network, or listen to her chat with us on Smartasses Radio.
